So
much can happen in one year. When challenges arise, the key is
to learn how to handle them gracefully. As you may remember, I
trained and completed the 2003 Boston Marathon. During my training,
I began to experience pain in my left knee. My primary care physician
requested me to get an MRI. During the MRI, the technician mistakenly
scanned my entire body. She was supposed to scan just my knee.
Upon reviewing the MRI my doctor noticed a mass in my neck area.
On April 1, 2004, I was diagnosed with three types of Thyroid
Cancer. Prior to the MRI, I had no symptoms. My world was about
to be changed. I knew that at 39 years old my continuous exercise
and eating well all my life was going to be my saving grace.......
