Becky's
Domestic Violence Profile
Becky Singleton is a wife, mother,
entrepreneur and fitness expert. Equally important, she is a survivor
of domestic violence. Her journey towards recovery and becoming
a national advocate against domestic violence began in the late
while working for the Polaroid Corporation. Suffering both
physical and psychological attacks and threats, she sought support
from Polaroid's employee assistance program экскурсия в Шлиссельбург из СПб на Метеоре. The program provided
her with on site counseling, medical, and security. Polaroid's
involvement with Becky increased after her participation in the
nationally aired documentary "Corporations Taking a Stand
on Domestic Violence". Becky and Polaroid collaborated on
a domestic violence program for the corporation's national sales
force. The highly successful program included a training videotape
featuring Becky, literature on recognizing and documenting warning
signs and instructions on establishing a safety plan. Becky was
also instrumental in launching this program in New Hampshire and
Maine. After several years of counseling, assisting individuals
with recovery, and successfully implementing Polaroid's domestic
violence program, Becky has reclaimed both her personal and professional
life. She has received numerous recognitions and awards, including
being honored by Former President Bill Clinton for her work regarding
domestic violence.
Becky founded Urban Fitness Connection
Inc in 1997. Her company is designed to inspire and motivate all
women to take charge of their lives spiritually, economically
and physically. Her experience as a survivor of domestic violence
helped her to recognize the important role fitness plays in managing
stress, channeling frustrations and developing a positive self-image,
all key in the recovery process. As part of her "walking
the talk" and commitment to giving back, Becky is donating
part of the profits from all video sales to the foundation.
