Coach, Becky Singleton
Becky
Singleton is
a Exercise Physiologist with 20+ years in the industry and 6 years
of extensive medical training where she trains Surgeons on how
to use the latest technology in the operating room. She has a
Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Northeastern
University, and has taken courses at the Coopers Institute of
Physical Fitness in Dallas, Texas and at Reebok University. Becky
has also received extensive Medical technology training from
Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon Endo-Surgery. She is the founder
and CEO of Urban Fitness Connection, Inc., which provides aerobics
fitness programming and nutritional consulting to individuals
and corporations nationally.
Heart
and Soul Magazine recognized her as a top fitness expert in '99.
Her motivational style, genuine sincerity and instructional techniques
has enabled her to provide fitness consultation to the Jenny Jones
Show, Sinbad's Music Festival, the NFL, Black Enterprise/Pepsi
Golf and Tennis Challenge, the National Brotherhood of Skiers
and other national organizations. She has also trained several
professional athletes, celebrities, seniors and everyday people.
Becky
provides fitness and domestic violence consultation to several
national African American publications. She just recently ended
her weekly fitness segment called "Becky's Basics" which was
seen on CBS affiliate, WBZ channel 4 in Boston, Massachusetts.
She has produced a total body fitness and nutrition video called
Becky Singleton's "Just Like You™"
. It introduces an African American fitness demonstration team
lead by her. Becky's physical appearance, a healthy woman whom
the average woman can readily identify and embrace, affirms their
archetypal profile and offers a positive alternative to videos
featuring instructors with unrealistic objective body types. This
video was self-funded and released in 1999.
The video
consists of a workout segment, an ab segment, a nutritional segment
and a personal growth segment. Her fundamental style and motivational
techniques are specifically geared for beginners and intermediates.
As a humanitarian,
survivor of and advocate against domestic violence she was recognized
by Former President Bill Clinton for her contributions,
Becky started The Love for Life Foundation,
Inc. in 1999. As part of her "walking
the talk" and commitment to giving back, she donates part of the
profits from all video sales to the foundation whose mission is
to assist in the education and wellness of Domestic Violence victims
and their children.
Becky
spends her down time relaxing in front of her fireplace with candles
and a good book.
