Fitness Coach,
Becky Singleton’s "Just Like You" Fitness Video
Inspires African
American Women to Strive For Total Health
Milton,
MA. - Motivational speaker, Exercise Physiologist and Heart
& Soul Magazine top fitness expert, Coach Becky Singleton,
now spreads her message of total overall health to everyday African
American women just like herself in her "Just Like You™" video
series. First in a series to be released, Becky Singleton's "Just
Like You™" video, was developed as great tool to assist African
American women in losing weight, getting toned and starting a
workout program.
"The percentage of
African Americans dying from heart disease, diabetes and hypertension
is staggering," says Becky. According to the National Women's
Health Information Center, 37% of African American women are obese,
compared to 21% for white. Diabetes is 60% more common in African
American women than white women, and hypertension strikes 34%
of all African American women, compared to 19% of white women.
"My mission is to change those statistics".
From her travels and
18 years of fitness consulting, Becky created a unique 60-minute
fat and calorie-burning workout video that is demonstrated by
African American women. The video consists of multilevel routines
that are easy to learn, fun and set to funky music. It has an
extensive Abs segment and provides some general nutritional guidance.
Also included are words of encouragement throughout the workout.
Becky's philosophy is simple and refreshing, individuals should
honor the body they have and make it the healthiest possible.
Much of Becky's strength
comes from her own life experiences. As a survivor of and advocate
against domestic violence, this dynamic speaker has spent years
combining fitness training and domestic violence workshops aimed
at helping women heal both body and soul.
A part of the proceeds
from the sale of all videotapes go to the Love for Life Foundation,
a nonprofit organization established by Becky to provide support
for victims of abuse and their children.
Becky received her
fitness training at Northeastern University where she received
her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. She continued
her fitness training at The Coopers Institute of Physical Fitness
in Dallas, TX and at Reebok University in Canton, Massachusetts.
She is the owner of Urban Fitness Connection, Inc. and she created,
produced and financed the Becky Singleton's "Just Like You™" video.
For the past several
years, she has provided fitness consulting for NFL, Reebok Corporation,
Sinbad's Music Festival, Ebony Magazine, United Negro College
Fund, the Jenny Jones Show and numerous other clients.
Her spectrum of fitness
expertise ranges from high/low impact aerobics, hip-hop dance,
step and slide to cycle/spinning, water aerobics, body walk, beginner
yoga, weight training and kick- boxing.
